Does GEO Calc need internet?

Core conversion, distance, and map measure work offline. Ads and analytics may use the network when available.

Calculations use standard WGS84 geodesy (Vincenty, ellipsoidal area). Verify critical measurements with certified survey equipment — GEO Calc is a field reference tool, not legal boundary authority.

Do I need an account?

No. Waypoints and preferences are stored on your device only.

Is there a subscription?

No. GEO Calc v1.0 is free with optional banner and interstitial ads. No in-app purchases at launch.

Does it use my GPS location?

Location is optional — used when you open map or GPS features. Converter and distance tools work from typed coordinates alone.

What coordinate formats are supported?

Decimal Degrees (DD), Degrees-Minutes-Seconds (DMS), UTM, and MGRS on WGS84.

How do I convert UTM to decimal degrees?

Open Coordinate Converter, paste your UTM string, and read DD (and DMS/MGRS) in the results panel. Works offline.

Why is my distance different from a flat map?

GEO Calc uses Vincenty geodesic distance on the WGS84 ellipsoid. Flat or Web Mercator rulers underestimate long spans — especially east-west at high latitude.

Can I use GEO Calc without GPS?

Yes. Converter and distance tools only need typed coordinates. GPS is optional for centering the map.

How do I export GPX?

Save waypoints from the app, open the Waypoints screen, select items, and tap Export GPX. Share the file via the system sheet.

Are waypoints backed up to the cloud?

No. Waypoints and preferences are stored locally. Export GPX if you need a backup.
